WHY IT'S NOT HALLOWEEN

jeremiah 31:3

No Bible-believing Christian should ever take part in the observance of halloween, here's why.

In the medieval period, people couldn't read the Holy Bible with their own eyes, let alone keep it in their household. Access to the Holy Bible was reserved for the clergy alone; more than that, it was written in Latin, a language unfamiliar to the people. What's more, the Bible was essentially chained to the podium at the church altar. It seemed that ordinary people were kept from knowing GOD in a personal way. People knew GOD based on the legalistic interpretation of the Catholic clergy of that day. In the late Middle Ages, the Catholic church used to issue penance or sell certificates to reduce punishment for sins. Even to this day, the Roman Catholic Church still practices this form of absolution. The doctrine then was mainly based on the Old Covenant doctrine and laws.

That misleading religious domination ended when Martin Luther posted his Ninety-five Theses on the door of Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, as a protest against the debilitating doctrine that portrayed the God of Israel as exacting, harsh, or punishing.  That single courageous act gave birth to what Christians all over the world now celebrate as Reformation Day. That day was October 31, 1517. Reformation Day shifts the Christian faith away from the works of the Law or an Old Covenant mentality to the True Gospel: grace and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

A great outcome that summarized the precept of Reformation Day was the publication of the "Five Solas" by distinguished theologians and historians between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries;

The Five Solas That Govern Christian Faith

Sola means "Alone"

Sola Scriptura; Scripture Alone

The Bible is the sole, inspired, infallible, and final authority for Christian faith and practice. Church traditions, papal decrees and human opinions do not hold equal weight with The Written WORD Of GOD.

                                    Sola Fide; Faith Alone

Justification - being declared righteous before GOD, is received through faith in the Lord JESUS Christ alone. Human good works, religious rituals, or moral efforts cannot earn or contribute to salvation.

                                    Sola Gratia; Grace Alone

Salvation is an unmerited, Free Gift of GOD's Grace.                       Sinners are spiritually dead and cannot cooperate with GOD, or earn HIS favor through their own will or merit. Salvation starts and ends with GOD's mercy.

                                   Solus Christus; Christ Alone

Salvation is found exclusively in The Lord JESUS Christ. JESUS Christ IS The Only Mediator between GOD and humanity. There is no need for human priests, saints, or church sacraments to bridge the gap.

Soli Deu Gloria; To The Glory of GOD Alone

All of creation, redemption, and human life exist ultimately for the glory of GOD, rather than human achievements or the veneration of saints.
